If you’ve ever wondered how James Bond (usually) manages to arrive just in the nick of time to avert disaster, it could be down to the accuracy of his perfect replica Omega Seamaster watches.
Since the introduction of its Master Chronometer certification programme in 2015, all mechanical Omega fake watches for sale that pass the rigorous 10-day testing regime set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) are sold with an accuracy pledge of zero to plus five seconds per day. That means they should never run slow, only fractionally fast.
But now luxury super clone Omega has developed a (literally) revolutionary hairspring ‘tuning’ device called the Spirate System which has only gone and sliced a further three seconds off that potential variation – delivering a bonkers level of accuracy between zero and plus two seconds a day. While it still doesn’t match the laser-like precision of most quartz movements – even uncertified ones are unlikely to gain or lose more than 15 seconds per month – it’s truly ground-breaking for a clockwork mechanism, besting even the plus/minus two seconds per day target achieved by Rolex with its benchmark Superlative Chronometer certification.
The Spirate System debuts in an all-new version of the best 1:1 replica Omega Speedmaster called the Super Racing that’s based on the 44.25mm Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer introduced in 2017. Put simply, Spirate combines a silicon balance spring (the part that causes the balance wheel to oscillate and turn the wheels that move the hands) with a fine tuning device incorporated into the balance bridge that allows super-fine adjustments to be made in increments of just 0.01 of a second.
The innovation enables a special tool to be used to alter the stiffness of the hairspring, an operation that’s carried out while the watch is running and can be performed at AAA quality fake Omega boutiques – potentially reducing servicing costs and eliminating the need for watches to be returned to the factory for regulating.
The new mechanism can be clearly seen through the transparent case back of the high quality replica Omega Speedmaster Super Racing, which features styling cues taken from the prototype of the Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss ultra-antimagnetic model launched a decade ago.
Available to buy in August at a price of £10,700 the ‘Super’ will set you back at least £1,000 more than a regular Speedmaster Racing in steel – but its status as the first (and currently only) watch to feature the Spirate System should give it instant collector kudos. As a big Speedy fan and someone who’s too polite to ever be late, George Clooney is bound to giving Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann a call about this racy new Swiss made copy Omega Speedmaster Racing. And as far as who’s going to be the new Bond, while he’s sure to be inheriting some banging best super clone Omega Seamasters, this latest technology is right up Ben Whishaw’s Q’s street, which bodes well for 007’s timekeeping, however you look at it.
